This is a novelty for sure. I've never had a wine made of anything other than grapes so this is a real adventure. It was a gift from some friends that went on vacation in Florida. Not only is this the first time I've had wine made from Key Limes, it's the first time I've had wine from Florida. I didn't know how to classify it so I called it a blend, which it is, a blend of Key Limes and grapefruit.

It is a pale yellow color and it has an aroma that is strikingly of Key Limes but also of Lemon Pledge, there is some sort of chemical aroma at play. As soon as it touches your tongue it is obvious that this is a sweet wine, quite sweet in fact. That same chemical aroma is detectable in the flavor, but the overall impression is of sweet, then Key Lime, then tartness on the finish. It doesn't taste like wine in the traditional sense (as one would expect) but it is pretty tasty. A very interesting vinous experience. Try it if you happen upon the opportunity.
