Name: Wally's Hut Shiraz
Type: Red
Grape: Shiraz
Origin: Australia
Year: 2006
Producer: Nugan Estate PTY LTD.
Price: $6.00

Standard goofy name and silly little story about how the name came to be on the label. It's part of the formula for marketing Australian wines. This one has a light purple color and an aroma dominated by tobacco. The flavor is uneven, with ripe fruit, mild black pepper notes and an almost citrusy tartness mingling together. This is one of my least favorite examples of Australian Shiraz to date. It isn't repulsive but I don't like it nearly as much as other options in the same price range.
