I have been drinking this particular wine every year since the 1998 vintage and it never fails to deliver. It has an aroma of soft fruits, a hint of grapefruit and vanilla. The flavor is quite sweet, I’ve always considered it a dessert wine. Those who love syrupy sweet dessert wines may disagree and argue that this is just a sweet Riesling, but it’s sweet enough that I’d substitute it for dessert any day. The finish is short and has a late note of grapefruit as well. Overall, I think it is a great value. Dessert wine is typically pricey so this one is always a treat.
