I’ve read a couple reviews online about this wine and I entirely disagree with those reviews. I’ve heard all this backlash against the wine industry for collusion between major wineries and the media. This is the first potential evidence of that collusion that I’ve seen. My experience of this wine is so far off the reviews I’ve seen it’s ridiculous. The dominant aroma is green firewood. I agree that the finish is long but the flavor is lackluster at best. I’m a fan of Pinot Noir but this one isn’t great, especially for Catena, a label I usually like. It’s also not particularly cheap, but it may be still too little to pay for a great Pinot Noir these days. Seems so in this case anyway.
