This is a red wine from the Cotes de Blaye region of Bordeaux, which sounds fancy but the wine isn’t. It smells musty and old. It doesn’t taste bad per se, there’s just nothing good about it. It has a nice color to it, but it tastes very thin and insubstantial until you get to the finish, which is longish, a bit tart and fairly tannic. It’s not terrible wine, but I’m kind of put out that I have to smell it every time I take a sip and I still have half the bottle to drink…
