This is a blend of grapes you’ve never heard of from Portugal. It contains Trincadeira, Castelao, Periquita, Aragonez (Temparanillo), Alfrocheiro, Moreto and Alicante Bouschet. A Heinz 57 of no names if I’ve ever seen it. Just as one might expect, it tastes like a light Port. I kind of figured that wine from Portugal would taste different than Port and this is my only experience with it, but this one certainly tastes like Port. Smells sweet like Port and has some rich flavors of dark berries and tobacco. All in all, it’s a decent wine and a good price on a 7 year old wine. I’d get it fast though, it is getting a little past its prime.
