Name: Menage a Trois
Type: Red
Grape: Blend
Origin: U.S. - California
Year: 2003
Producer: Folie A Deux Winery
Price: $10.99

Admittedly, I just picked this one because of the name. It’s a rather clever name to boot since it’s a blend of three grapes: Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet. The nose is all plums and blackberries and the flavor is mildly sweet but dominated by acidity. It has a tannic, medium length finish that tops off this unexceptional California blend. I know I’m cheap but I expect more at this price level.
