Name: Les Heretiques Type: Red Grape: Table Wine Origin: France Year: 2003 Producer: Chateau d'Oupia Price: $6.00 This wine has a deep purple color and a moderate aroma if you really get your nose in the glass. Smells like blackberries and (unsurprisingly) Concord grapes. The wine looks and smells better than it is though. It starts tart, then turns slightly tannic and the taste you’re left with is tart and somewhat sour. That said, it ain’t bad. I had a glass with a steak off the grill and it was reasonably enjoyable. The label looks cool and I got the wine on sale for $6 a bottle. I’ve seen it online for more and I wouldn’t recommend paying more, but if you get it cheap at your local wine shop it’s worth a try. |
