This is a wine from southern Italy in Puglia, all the way down in the heel of the boot. It is blended from 80% Negroamaro and 20% Malvasia Nera grapes. Admittedly, I've never heard of either. It is a ruby red color and the nose is pretty strong. I get hints of tobacco and smoke. The flavor is off, the tannins are a bit much and the berry flavors taste old for lack of a better descriptor. I think this one is simply past its prime.
