Name: Cawarra Type: Red Grape: Blend - Shiraz/Cabernet Origin: Australia Year: 2003 Producer: Lindemans Price: $5.00
Lindemans is one of the Australian labels that has made a name for itself by producing great wines for decent prices year after year. This blend of Shiraz (63%) and Cabernet (37%) is no exception. In fact, it is one of my all-time favorite super cheap red wines. My wife even likes it and for all intents and purposes, she doesn’t drink. But she takes a few sips every time I have a glass because she likes the flavor so much. For a mere $5 a bottle, you get a real crowd-pleaser. It smells of melons and has a deep purple color. The flavor is very smooth and slightly sweet, with a hint of tannins on the finish. This one is a slam dunk, buy it by the case. For it's value and excellence, I'm granting it my very first seal of approval, this wine is a Cheap Wine Guy approved Cheap Thrill.
