Grape: Primitivo
Origin: Italy
Year: 2005

Another weird Italian grape from Flaio is the Primitivo. This one is a couple shades darker in color than the Negroamaro and the scent is caramel and fruit. It also starts out smooth but it has a weightier feel in the mouth and it has a spicy finish. The flavors in between are difficult to describe. They aren't necessarily fruity and there are some subtle tannins. That's the best I can do. It's worth a try.
