I liked the Rex-Goliath Shiraz I had not long ago and saw a Cab, a Merlot and a Chard from the same label on sale so I picked them up. I realized later that the Chard was the only one from the same vintage and the two reds were both non-vintage. I didn’t expect them to be as good, since my favorite wine store only carries the Shiraz. I was right but it isn’t a bad wine. It has a mild aroma and fairly bland fruity flavors with some very mild tannins on the finish. It’s an ok wine, but compared to the Shiraz I had it is just lackluster. The Shiraz just really popped and this one is quite average. It’s really no consolation but this one is a few bucks cheaper.
