This Merlot has quite a nose on it, with strikingly fruity aromas and a hint of vanilla. It is smooth and mildly tasty with a kick of spice and some subtle tannins on the finish. I’ve had wines from this producer before several times and this is the first one that I have liked at all. I usually associate Georges Duboeuf with cheap Beaujolais and that may be my problem since I tend not to like Beaujolais. This Merlot is worth a look though.
