I'm hoping for the best with this bottle. It's the most expensive of the potentially decrepit wines I bought at the corner store. I figured a Cab might stand up to the aging a bit better. It has a purplish color and I can't tell from the color that it is relatively old for a cheap wine. It doesn't smell bad either, kind of woodsy. It tastes normal at first but then takes on a powerful astringent quality that I would compare to spicy food. It's drinkable but not good.
