If you don’t like dry wine, steer clear of this one. I like dry wine and this one is a little overpowering. It smells of blackberry, has relatively strong flavors and a very tart, tannic finish. On the upside, the bottle is very cool and it tells a little story of how the wine came to be. Don Melchor de Concha Y Toro spread a rumor that the devil was in a particular cellar to ward off thieves. Thus, the name which translates as “cellar of the devil.” Good story, good marketing, so-so wine. If you like very dry, bold wines, go for it.
